It was discovered at the University Hospital of Dresden by Prof. Seiler and Prof Spoerl, where I did part of my specialization.

Yag-Laser ( German Company Zeiss)

For secondary cataracts, laser can be performed at our center. The sessions last only a few minutes and are painless. An essential laser that is used in the treatment of secondary cataracts and various types of glaucoma.

Laser for retinal hole drilling

As a result of the sudden detachment of the vitreous body of the inner eye, holes may be created in the retina.

The holes MUST definitely be closed with a special LASER, which we have at our center.

Laser for diabetics and conditions after vessel closure

At our center we use the Laser of the German company NAVILAS. The only one in Cyprus that can perform the Laser even without contact with the eye and with infrared light operation, which means much less pain and much less discomfort for the patient, without diminishing the efficiency of the Laser.

Cataract surgery

If vision is not satisfactory or the cataract is significant, the correct and only treatment is surgical removal. The old view that cataracts must mature in order to be removed does not apply to modern surgical treatment; on the contrary, this carries more intraoperative risks.

Ioanna Tarasidou

Ioanna Tarasidou is an ophthalmologist and surgeon, a graduate of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She specialized in Ophthalmology at the Athens General Hospital "G. Gennimatas", gaining experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of eye diseases and in eye surgery.

She holds a postgraduate degree in "Optics and Vision" from the University of Crete and has a particular interest in macular diseases, glaucoma and refractive surgeries (LASIK, PRK).

Since 2020, she has maintained a private practice in Athens, offering comprehensive services in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, with an emphasis on personalized patient care.

He is a member of the Cyprus Ophthalmological Society (CYOS) and actively participates in scientific conferences and educational programs, constantly monitoring developments in the field of modern ophthalmology.
